Atsushi Shindo is Arata Shindo's father. He is a mysterious figure and a former Bifrost Inspector.
Appearance[]
Shindo is a male of average height and build in his 50's. He has brown eyes and short gray hair. He is typically seen in a dark green suit, brown vest and black turtleneck top beneath. He wears corrective lenses.
Personality[]
He is a kind and intelligent individual who believes he is doing the right thing when he joins the Sibyl System. He is also mysterious and secretive.
Personal Background[]
Born on January 10, 2062.[1]
At one point he worked in Dejima on a Sibyl exporting project. There he met Theresa Shinogi and helped her to establish the Council of the Right Path (CRP). He later finds out about Shinogi's and Kurisu Kyoji O'Brien's Final Salvation Plan and advises them against it.
In the end, his actions in the Stronkaya Case lead to the suspension of his rights as a Bifrost Inspector.[2]
Early Life[]
2106 - Shindo's wife, Seiko Shindo, is provided euthanasia after falling into a state of Eustress Deficiency with no hope of recovery.
2106 - Shindo discovers that his son, Arata Shindo, is criminally asymptomatic.
2118 - Shindo commits suicide.

Arata Shindo[]
Arata is Atsushi's son. He deeply cares about his son and worries about him. He has trained Arata to use his mentalist abilities safely. He is also aware that Arata is criminally asymptomatic and advises him to hide this fact. Arata often "converses" with him in his thoughts. At first, Arata is unaware of his father's connection to Bifrost, but later begins to suspect it during the gubernatorial election campaign of Karina Komiya.
