Itsuki Otomo (大友 逸樹 Ootomo Itsuki) is the Commanding Officer of the Field Intelligence Corp, 15th unit of the Joint Task Force in the National Defense Forces, with the rank of Colonel. His main tasks are site infiltration, electronic warfare and intelligence work.[1]
Appearance[]
Otomo is a male of taller than average height and a slender, muscular build in his 30's. He has dark-irised eyes and a low-cut fade haircut. He is typically seen wearing his green military uniform with a white t-shirt beneath.[1] Due to a medical error, he lost both arms as a child and uses two prosthetics in their place eversince.[2]
Personality[]
He has a severe attitude on the job, but is basically an upright man. His first priority is the safety of his wife and unborn child, although he is also dedicated to his work, seems to enjoy his job and is clever about it. He is ambitious, but also thoughtful. He is physically fit and is often seen sparring with his best friend, Teppei Sugo, after work. And while Sugo used to be better at hand-to-hand-combat, Otomo's training bot has made him superior.[1]
Personal Background[]
It may be speculated that he found out about Operation Foot Stamp beforehand and had information regarding the secret location. It is also likely that he knew that the operation would be fatal, as he dropped hints about it to Sugo before its start.
He then goes missing during Operation Foot Stamp and is killed, along with the rest of the ground troops, by neurotoxic gas.[1]

Rin is Itsuki's wife and they share a loving relationship. He is proud of her clear Psycho-Pass. She miscarries their unborn child after Otomo goes missing.[1]
Teppei Sugo[]
Otomo and Sugo have been friends for a long time and Sugo greatly admires the man. Otomo updates his sparring robot with new fighting skills regularly so Sugo always has someone with whom to spar (and in case of his own demise). Sugo is one of the few persons he entrusts with the fact that his wife is pregnant. He seems to expect that Sugo will reveal the truth behind Operation Foot Stamp or will lead the culprits to justice, as he leaves behind a secreted hint to confidential data inside the cap of a brandy bottle stashed in his locker.[1]
Etymology[]
- The name Itsuki means "deviate, idleness, leisure, miss the mark, evade, elude, parry, diverge" (逸) (itsu) and "tree" (樹) (ki).
- Itsuki's surname Otomo means "big, great" (大) (o) and "friend, companion, pal" (友) (tomo).
