Kagami Kawarazaki (川原崎 加賀美 Kawarazaki Kagami) is one of Mika Shimotsuki's childhood friends and high school classmates.

Appearance

Kawarazaki is an adolescent female of average height and build. She has gray eyes and short black hair with wispy bangs. She is typically seen wearing the Oso Academy uniform.

Personality

She is a kind and caring girl who cares deeply for her friends.

Personal Background

• In December 2112, Kawarazaki becomes aware that students from her school are being murdered. When her friend Yoshika Okubo disappears, she goes to Rikako Oryo to discover what happened to her. Oryo uses this opportunity to kidnap and murder her, as well.

Relationships

Mika Shimotsuki

Kawarazaki grew up with Shimotsuki and they remain close. During a chat about Okubo's disappearance, Shimotsuki tells her she should speak to Rikako Oryo about it. Later, when Kawarazaki is killed and her body is made into a statue alongside Okubo's, Shimotsuki blames herself for her death and implies that she wanted to tell her something very important, but had no chance to do so.

Yoshika Okubo

Kawarazaki grew up with Okubo and is deeply concerned when Okubo disappears. When she asks Rikako Oryo about it, Oryo knocks her out, then binds and gags her before killing her. Her and Okubo's corpses become one of Oryo's "statues."

Rikako Oryo

Oryo is a gifted artist who is being groomed by Shogo Makishima to become a murderer. She is an idol to several girls at Oso Academy, including Kawarazaki and Okubo. After Okubo goes missing, after a talk with her other friend Shimotsuki, Kawarazaki approaches Oryo about the matter, only to become another victim.

Etymology

• The name Kagami means "add, increase" (加) (ka), "congratulations, joy" (賀) (ga) and "beautiful" (美) (mi).
• Kagami's surname Kawarazaki means "river, stream" (川) (ka), "field, plain" (原) (hara/wara) and "cape, peninsula" (崎) (saki/zaki).

Trivia

• Kawarazaki's and Okubo's hues match so well that the Sibyl System would have certainly judged them suitable as a couple.
