For the First Inspector recaps, should I do three separate episode pages and link them to the main First Inspector Page like I did for Psycho-Pass 3 or create one big recap on the main FIrst Inspector page and divide them into sub-headings because I'm going to watching the Amazon Prime version which is divided into three OVAs and the recaps themselves might be pretty long?
Given how the feature is being presented, I think it would be best to set it up in the same manner as the Sinners of the System trilogy. You can even use the same coding from source to make it easy-peasy. It seems to have the same style and feel. Thanks for thinking ahead! Angelle 01:30, March 26, 2020 (UTC)
I've added the main title and three subtitles to the Menu Bar under Eiga since it will be screened as such in Japan. You can set up each OVA as a separate page, but keep the listing simple on the Main article page as "Eiga." This will keep the look of the wiki consistent. Angelle 01:54, March 26, 2020 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for checking in at this crazy time.
Actually, the only thing in need of updating right now is the mobile main page. If you want to help with that, that would be awesome. Otherwise, I'll try to get to it some time over the next week or so. I'm on lockdown in New York so there's lots of hours at my disposal, especially with work curtailed. And speaking of "lockdowns," I hope you and those you know are doing okay. I'm not sure where you live, but it doesn't matter. We're all in this together, no matter what. That doesn't just apply to the wiki, either, so take care to stay safe and follow good health guidelines. They matter! Angelle 11:13, March 23, 2020 (UTC)
If I have a free moment, I'll definitely help out on the mobile main page, but I can't make any promises at the moment!
My other job has been deemed "essential", so it's been pretty crazy over the last week or so with little signs of slowing down. Thanks for your concern, I'll do my best to keep safe and I hope the same for you! ~tya 15:39, March 23, 2020 (UTC)
Hm. I'm not sure either. I suggest you check in with our Wiki Manager, TyA. She's here to help everyone with any questions re: technical issues. Her message page is here. She's very nice and very knowledgeable.
Re: Adding music, Ty says that adding You Tube vids is okay. You're free to re-work current music pages to add vids or redirect them to appropriate vids if you do add them to our vids collection. Sounds like a good project! Let me know if you're interested in taking that on.
The sample looks good but you could upload a video from YT to our video section, then replace the sample with a link to that in the sample box. We'll see how that looks and come a decision with some input from the other editors. How does sound to you? Angelle 23:55, March 10, 2020 (UTC)
I've been thinking about creating a page for Inspector Fuse, the one that died in the car accident between the movies and season 3. However we don't know much about him yet (not even his full name I think) apart fom being dead, his death being linked to Akanes imprisonment and Maos involvement.
I found a picture of him and his partner on the screen of Kaseis computer in one screenshot and zoomed in and warped it a little.
It is blurry however, should I still use it as profile picture until we get a better picture?
Sure, create the page. You can use one of the pages already in place for a minor character as the template. Just start with a blank page, then copy the coding from SOURCE not VISUAL mode. I do not recommend using pre-made templates as we haven't used them in the past and they won't look the same. Do you know how to find and use source editing? If not, let me know and I'll guide you. It's not difficult. Anyway, just do your best and I'll clean up afterwards. Good idea! Angelle 19:50, March 8, 2020 (UTC)
Only characters who have more than six images on their pages require a separate gallery page. Feel free to set up galleries for those characters. Be sure the images are in chronological order, including any images you may have already uploaded or others you notice out of sync. Thanks.
Also -- in general -- if other characters appear in the image used for one character, that image should also appear in the other characters' galleries.
And finally...When naming, please include part of the name of the character in the image name. This makes it possible for the Search element to find it. Otherwise, it doesn't know what the image is about. When adding captions, add which format and/or episode it comes from.
I know that's a lot to remember, which is why I'm explaining it in full for reference (in case someone else asks).
I see! That's good to know. I'll create separate galleries for those characters then if I see it. Should those image galleries then be after the general description of the character or should they stay at the same place they were before? I just wondered when I saw Aratas gallery at the top of the page.
I'll add the images to the other characters as well next. I generally take way too many screenshots for reference, so it's easy for me to search for certain scenes. But this way I also tend to upload too many pictures, I have to be careful.
Also yes, I'll change the title of the files from now onwards. I thought it would work when I upload it but apparently the file name stays. Is there a way to rename the files I already uploaded? Or should I delete them and reupload them with a better file name? Luckily I already started adding the episode number to the captions, so at least there I won't have to change as much :)
Thank you for clarifying! I'll try to fix my mistakes soon!
Sounds good. Don't worry about the images without names. I'll work on renaming those at some point.
As for the new gallery pages, I meant to move that link to the bottom of the page and never got around to it. It's now between Trivia and References, where the other galleries are located with one exception: there's a lead to the subpage beneath the header. Please include that bit if you add a subpage.
I noticed that at the end of the main page is a photo of Sugo. I don't know if this was a mistake or it was meant to be, so I inform you. As for the Shion TV3 image in the infobox, I think we should change it. It is not from season 3. You can find them here: https://randomc.net/2012/11/04/psycho-pass-04/
I'm going back to editing. I spent most of the holidays in the hospital because of the recurring illness, but I feel strong enough. Can I help here? I was thinking of creating articles for missing characters from seasons 1-2 such as Kouichi Hatano (enforcer of the 2nd Division), Takayuki Haga (enforcer of the 3rd Division) and Koichi Ashikaga (the guy who helped Kogami in the Rikako’s case, and adding opening and ending for PP3.
First of all, it's good to know that you're feeling better. I hope that continues to be the case.
As for adding characters not covered, absolutely yes! All the wiki asks is that you follow the existing format for articles. I suggest creating a new page using the blank page format, then do a cut-and-paste from an article for a minor character onto the page followed by changing the facts, as necessary (this would include the character infobox it contains). That way, you know it will appear similar. I say this because I don't like the pre-formatted templates and would end up working the page over, so whatever you can do to keep things consistent in appearance is most helpful.
Enjoy editing and if you need help, just leave me a message and I'll do what I can.
Good morning Luxartisan! I hope you're having a good holiday season.
I was wanting to stop by and see how everything was going. Has anything come up you could use some help with?
I'm very glad to see you've found someone else to edit with you, especially since they seem quite competent! I still haven't been able to watch the new season yet! There just isn't enough hours in the day for everything! 16:14, December 20, 2019 (UTC)
I did, indeed, find a new editing partner who is enthusiasric and a good editor. It's been wonderful having help and having another opinion when decisions have to be made. Traffic is still low, but PP traffic is low on social media, too. It's the result of the shipping community not seeing their favorite pairing together in S3 in any way except for one brief scene without any promise of anything further in the 2020 film. They may be watching, but they aren't commenting or contributing...much. In fact, one of the first article comments the wiki received was full of profanity towards the franchise for changing things.
Me? I found my interest re-ignited by S3. I truly enjoyed it and editing like a maniac has been crazy fun. I have my theories about things but I tend to keep things to myself as I have had some toxic interactions online for no good reason other than a difference of opinion. I am very non-confrontational and Wikis allow one to communicate with others as one chooses and I choose limited access. And I write - since I was a kid actually - and that has been a source of relaxation, recognition, and creative fulfillment.
At any rate, PhoenixRising88 (who I call Phoe-san) has been great and we collaborate well. I'd like to see her as a wiki member for at least three months before promoting her to Admin. It's a decent internship and gives us time to continue adjusting to one another's style.
Other than that, I would like to say that you have been a cheery and helpful presence, which is something I did not expect but for which I am grateful. If all Wiki Managers are like you, there will be no issue with the program continuing. To be honest, I do think of you as a quasi-spy even though I know CC is watching all the time anyway, so...I mean that tongue-in-cheek. I like you. I just like autonomy more. 😉
If we don't communicate again soon, have a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year! I'm sure the new platform will bring lots of questions from me and you'll be busy then!
I have to consider that. Nice update on the PSB Navbox and I like the Antagonist layout. It can go at the bottom of the Antagonist pages. I can also post a link on the Antagonist Category page and vice versa. Angelle 22:09, November 20, 2019 (UTC)
I think the married couple are both victims and antagonists - sort of anti-heroes, like the Sybil System, but they're still the reason the PSB is called in to investigate so I'd stick with them. Off to work now. See ya later! Good work today. Angelle 22:29, November 20, 2019 (UTC)
P.S. I tightened up those Psl Bg segments so don't worry about them.
If you know how to edit, feel free to make the correction. If not, this is a great way to start. It might feel scary, but you really can't mess things up and if you do, give me a shout and I'll help you. Everybody has to make their first edit at some point. Give up the editing v-card, my friend!
