PSYCHO-PASS × A3! SPECIAL COLLAB (PSYCHO-PASS サイコパス 3 × A3! スペシャルコラボ PSYCHO-PASS Saiko Pasu 3 × Eesurii! Supesharu Korabo) is an official collaboration event between PSYCHO-PASS 3 and the mobile game A3!.

Synopsis[]

The collab event was first announced on February 16th, 2020, through A3!'s Japanese Twitter account where it was revealed that the next in-game event would revolve around the world of PSYCHO-PASS. The event itself began on February 21st, 2020, at 16:00 (JST) and ran until 13:59 (JST) on March 2nd, 2020.

During this time, players had the opportunity to obtain cards featuring characters from the third season of PSYCHO-PASS alongside the game's usual characters. Additionally, certain features of the game were altered to be themed after PSYCHO-PASS during the event, such as swapping out the A3! character chibis for chibi versions of Arata Shindo, Kei Mikhail Ignatov, Sho Hinakawa and Kazumichi Irie.

The event only ran on the Japanese server of the game; due to the closure of the game's English server in early 2022 before this event could receive an English release, there is no official English release or translation of the event and its story.

Summary[]

The story revolves around the MANKAI theater company receiving an offer to create a stage play in collaboration with the hit anime PSYCHO-PASS to celebrate the release of its third season. Since only Itaru Chigasaki is a fan of the series, he talks several of the other members into binge watching the series with him in preparation to get a feel for the series.

The play adapts the first half of Season 3 and Itaru feels that the casting of Shindo and Ignatov is of vital importance due to the strength of their partnership and bond. Eventually it's decided that Misumi Ikaruga would excel in the role of Shindo due to his natural athleticism and friendly personality, while Chikage will appear as his partner, Ignatov, due to his more serious nature.

Despite spot-on casting, it soon becomes apparent during rehearsals that the two leads seem to lack the chemistry that is evident between Shindo and Ignatov in the anime. To keep the play as faithful to the original series as possible, Itaru urges the two to spend more time together to replicate the relationship between the detectives.

Eventually, a partnership between the two is realized after they hunt down a thief who steals a childhood, prized possession, leading both to comment on the situation's similarity to scenes from PSYCHO-PASS. As a result of the incident and improved chemistry between the two leads, the stage adaptation of the anime becomes a major hit! The audience is really able to feel the passion and care for the anime that went into bringing the series to life on the stage and the troupe is met with a great deal of applause.

After the play finishes its run, the troupe members who play the main characters in the collab decide to celebrate their success by trying out one of the PSYCHO-PASS themed escape rooms.
