Psycho-Pass Genesis is a tetralogy of official novels written by Ryo Yoshigami and published by Hayakawa Bunko JA (ハヤカワ文庫 JA) between 2015 and 2017. The storyline of the novels can be grouped into two parts. Genesis 1 & 2 follows the steps of Tomomi Masaoka, then a young detective, as the Japanese Police force lives its last days. Genesis 3 & 4 is seen through the eyes of a (mostly) new set of characters that delineates the beginning of the Sibyl System.

Genesis 1 & 2
- The Dominator is the principle weapon only Inspectors and Enforcers are allowed to carry in times of emergency.
- The weapon has preferential online connection with the Sibyl System to instantly measure suspects' crime coefficients based on their PSYCHO-PASS.
- When it detects the crime coefficient is over the defined value, the Dominator automatically disengages the safety and diagnoses the most effective system for the suspects.
- The default mode is Paralyzer; however, if it recognized the suspect dangerous, it changes to Eliminator mode.
- In situation the carrier is at risk of danger, the weapon chooses to exercise its highest power and transforms to Decomposer.
