Shizuka Homura (法斑静火 Homura Shizuka) was a novice Bifrost Congressman in the holo game, Roundrobin.[1] He is now Chief of the Public Safety Bureau.[2]
Appearance[]
Homura is a male of average height and build in his 30's. He has dark-irised eyes and wavy black hair parted to the left. He is typically seen wearing a dark blue suit, white dress shirt and tie.[1] He carries himself with an air of wealth and authority at all times.[1][3][4][5][6]
Personality[]
Always calm, he often conceals his secrets behind a soft smile and rarely shows emotion. He hates games and doesn't place value on people's humanity, though he doesn't view people as cogs, either. He is determined to survive and will resort to any method necessary to achieve his goals. However, he is a dutiful son and visits his ailing father, though whether out of genuine devotion or some other benefit to himself is unknown.[3] He carries an air of mystery around him, and even Harumi Hosorogi remarks that he's quite an odd person.[7]
Personal Background[]
Adopted by the Homura family, Shizuka has been raised by Koichiro Homura to win regardless of his personal feelings while showing no emotion.[2]
Prior to his role as a Bifrost Congressman, he holds an undisclosed and covert position in the Japanese government. This is unknown until the conclusion of First Inspector when his role is clarified as being a government agent capable of winning all Roundrobin games in order to eliminate Kyoko Saionji and Haruki Shirogane and return control of the Bifrost System to the Sibyl System.
Prior to 2119, he defeats Toya Saionji and takes over his position as a Congressman in the Roundrobin.
In November 2120, he is observed to win his very first "relation" at Roundrobin, giving him the potential to affect real world events in any way he so chooses.[8]
In late 2120, he inherits real estate under suspicious circumstances.
Relationships[]
Koichiro Homura[]
Shizuka is Koichiro's son. They seem to share a respectful relationship.[3]
Kyoko Saionji[]
Saionji appears to dislike Homura and is wary around him because she blames him for Toya Saionji's defeat and desires revenge against him.
Haruki Shirogane[]
Shirogane is a fellow Congressman who is responsible for the purging of Koichiro Homura. Despite this, Homura doesn't seem to bear a grudge against him and the two seem to get along.
Koichi Azusawa[]
Azusawa is an Inspector in the same organization as Homura.[7] Homura acts in a way that reflects Azusawa's beliefs of not placing value on people's humanity and desiring to be among the elite. Yet, Homura still sees people as human beings with feelings. Azusawa believes Homura to be dangerous.
Sibyl System (Harumi Hosorogi)[]
Like Akane Tsunemori, Homura has a unique character that intrigues Sibyl. They share a mutually respectful relationship. For taking down Bifrost, Sibyl expresses its gratitude by appointing Homura Public Safety Bureau Chief, an action found to be shocking to CID Chief Inspector Mika Shimotsuki.[2]
